(COUDERSPORT, Pa – July, 15, 2016) – For the second year, Mazen Fouany, MD, FACOG, a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) at Cole Memorial’s Women’s Health Center, was named America’s Top OB GYN of 2016 from the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Consumers’ Research Council of America compiled the list of top Obstetricians and Gynecologists throughout the United States by utilizing a point value system. This method uses a point value for criteria that is deemed valuable in determining the top health care professionals.
The criteria used assessed a point value as follows:
· Experience - Each year the Obstetrician/Gynecologist has been in practice
· Training - Education and Continuing Education
· Professional Associations - Membership in Obstetric/Gynecologic Associations
· Board Certification - Completing an approved residency program and passing a rigid examination on that specialty

He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Lock Haven University’s Physician Assistant program and the Director of Obstetrics/Pediatrics CME courses that take place once a month. Dr. Fouany has presented multiple topics in high-risk pregnancies. He’s also currently working on reviewing the effects of Vitamin D deficiency on infertility.
A graduate of the University of Balamand School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon in 2007, Dr. Fouany completed an internship and OB/GYN residency at the George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC) in Washington, DC. Additionally, he was a resident of the general surgery program at the St. Georges University Hospital.
Prior to joining Cole Memorial in 2012, he worked at GWUMC in downtown Washington and the Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
