Allentown-area highway work

State Route 417
Towns of Bolivar, Alma, and Scio
Allegany County
The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that pavement recycling work will begin on state Route 417 on Thursday, July 14, 2016, weather permitting.  The project will extend from approximately 0.3 miles west of the intersection of state Route 417 with White Hill Road in the town of Bolivar to approximately 0.2 miles east of the intersection of state Route 417 with county Route 9 in the town of Scio, for a total of approximately 3.6 miles.  This scope of this project includes the towns of Bolivar, Alma, and Scio in Allegany county.
An asphalt pavement course will be placed in the same location at a later time, weather permitting.  A new advisory will be issued at that time.
Motorists will encounter flaggers, lane closures and could experience travel delays.  It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.
