Arson & perjury charges for woman accused of setting Wyoming County fires

After an extensive investigation, lead by Forensic Technician Miller, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Jody Nelligan, 39, of Orchard Park NY.  The charges stem from two separate fires that occurred at 68 Liberty Street in the Village of Arcade.  The first fire was set in the basement on the evening of March 23, 2015.  The second was set in a second floor bedroom closet in the morning of March 24, 2015.  The house was owned by Thomas Capell (Jody Nelligan’s father) and was occupied by family members when both fires were set.  A Grand Jury indictment generated the Superior Court Warrant that was executed on June 30, 2016 by Orchard Park Police Department.  Jody Nelligan was placed in the Wyoming County Jail and on July 1, 2016 was arraigned by Wyoming County Court Judge Mohan.  Bail was set $25,000 Cash / $50,000 Bond and she is to return to court in September.
