Cuba: Community interest in lamppost project sought

Cuba Friends of Architecture are exploring the community’s interest in erecting a series of memorial Victorian style decorative lampposts in Cuba’s downtown.  The lampposts would be like the light out front of the Cuba Palmer Opera House, which was given in honor of Time Rinker by his family.  The installed price for each will be about $1,600, including a memorial plaque. Anyone interested in being part of the project by purchasing a lamppost, please send a message to, or to:

Cuba NY 14727
Please do not send any funds for the lampposts at this time.  They are simply trying to gauge community interest in the project.

The Cuba Friends of Architecture is an active organization within Cuba, continuing to help with the renewal of the village.  Anyone interested in becoming a member can email, or pick up an application in the lobby of the Palmer Opera House.  Single memberships start at $15, and members will receive our bimonthly newsletter.
