New hires and towers possible for Allegany County 911

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney hopes lawmakers will give him the approval to hire more people at the 911 Center as well as secure a site in Alma for a new radio tower. When the county Public Safety committee meets Wednesday, Whitney will ask for permission to hire one permanent full-time and one part-time 911 dispatcher. He’ll also seek approval of a lease for land for the development of a new communications tower. The 25 year lease would include a one-time payment of $8,500.
