NY State Police Blotter

On July 2, 2016 Troopers arrested Michael E. Whitney, 45, of Belmont, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.
Troopers investigating a report of an intoxicated driver stopped Whitney on Back River Road in the Town of Amity.  While being interviewed, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was allegedly detected.  Whitney refused standard field sobriety tests.  He was arrested and transported to SP Amity for processing where troopers said  he recorded a 0.31% BAC.   He was released on tickets for court.

On July 2, 2016, Troopers arrested Craig J. Ebner, 33, of Perry, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated.Troopers investigating vehicle and traffic complaint stopped Ebner on State Route 19 in the Town of Hume.  While being interviewed the odor of an alcoholic beverage was allegedly detected, police said.  Standard field sobriety tests were conducted which police said Ebner subsequently failed.  He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to SP Fillmore for processing where he recorded a 0.12% BAC.  He was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Hume Court on 7/14/2016 at 5:00 PM.

On July 3, 2016, Troopers arrested Thomas L. Hurd, 24, of Belmont, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Police said Hurd was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on the Back River Road in the Town of Scio for failing to maintain lane.  During the traffic stop, Troopers said they detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.  Hurd was allegedly found to be in possession of marihuana and several prescription medications that he did not possess a prescription for.   He was arrested and transported to SP Amity for processing where he was issued an Appearance Ticket for Court on July 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
