Obituary: Jacquelane E. Congdon, 80, Canaseraga

Jacquelane E. Congdon, 80, of 2179 County Route 70-A, Apartment A, passed away Friday (July 29, 2016) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Avoca, September 10, 1935, the daughter of John and Ellen Flink, who were beloved parents to her for the rest of their life, she was later adopted by Clair and Ethel Alderman, and resided her early life in Bath and Avoca, moving to the Hornell area at age 15. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Canaseraga, and a member of the Hornell VFW. She had attended Alfred State College, been employed at Alfred University, at JC’S CafĂ© in Hornell, and was a home health aide for several years. She was active in the Foster Grandparents Program in the Hornell City School District, as well as other neighboring schools. Jackie enjoyed reading, and her spaghetti and meatballs, and coleslaw will be greatly missed by her entire family. Jackie wished to remind all her family and friends to “Live Life To The Fullest”.
She was predeceased by her loving parents and her loving adopted parents, her husband, James L. Congdon Sr. in 1978, her sister; Laura Ann Flink in 1944, her great grand daughter, Kaylie Jane Dennis, her great grand son, Issiah Manry and her loving canine companion “Katie”. She was also predeceased by her Sisters-In-Law, Wanda Flink, Jackie Hubbard, and Mary Ellen Koechel, and her Brothers-In-Law, Joseph Furnari, Charles Congdon, and David Congdon. She is survived by daughters; Cindy (Doug) France of Bishopville, and their children; Jason, Teresa and Emilie, Kelley M.(Michael) Pollizi of Hornell and their children; Anthony, Joseph, and Sydney, Roberta L. “Bobbi” Congdon of Hornell and her children; Paul and Aaron, Sandra J. (Michael) Marion of Hornell and their children; Michelle, Jennifer, Megan, Laura, and Michaela, and Kathleen M. (Elmer) Smith of Hornell and their children; Jeremey,Anna, Erica,and Barbara, her sons; James L. Congdon Jr., of Hornell and his children; Gregory, Robbie, and Stacey, Francis D. Congdon of Florida and his children; Joshua, Samantha, and Timothy, Mike S. (Kathy) Congdon of Georgia and their children; Ashley, Brandi, Amber, and Casey, Daniel T. (Kim) Congdon Sr. of Hornell and their children; Niccole, Tyler, Devin, Daniel Jr. Taylor, and MacKenzie, and Mark J. (Bettyann) Congdon Sr. of PA and their children; Mark Jr., Jessica, and Jacquelane, her sister, June Furnari of Webster, and her brother, John Flink of Ohio. She is also survived by her Sisters-In-Law, Doris Congdon, Jane Congdon, Kathy Skiers and Peggy Jones.

The family will be observing private visitation hours at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 1 PM at St. Mary’s Church in Canaseraga. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Town Of Fremont.
