Olean man charged with selling crack cocaine

A 35 year old Olean resident was arrested Fruday at 5:00 p.m. for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the City of Olean. Samuel “Poo” McKenney of 135 N. 6th Street was taken into custody on the 100 block of N. 6th St. by members of the Police Departments Street Crimes Unit for an outstanding arrest warrant signed by the Honorable Judge Ploetz charging him with one count each of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 3rd degree which are both B Felonies. Captain Robert Blovsky said at the time of his arrest, McKinney was allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine and Marihuana and he was also charged with a separate charge of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and unlawful possession of marijuana. The arrest warrant was a result of an investigation conducted by the Olean Police Departments Street Crimes unit along with Cattaraugus County District Attorney Lori Rieman. Mckenney was arraigned on the possession of drug charges placed at the time of his arrest and bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. He was transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail pending arraignment on the drug charges on the original indictment warrant.
