On May 5, 2016, a letter was hand delivered to your residence concerning the upcoming construction on the 200 block of North 3rd Street. The project is set to begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, where preparation for the construction will begin, i.e. snow fence placed, tree removal, etc. THE STREET WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC AT 8:00AM ON MONDAY, JULY 11, 2016. Please be sure to have all vehicles removed before this time. Otherwise they will be unavailable for the remainder of the project. The road will be reopened by Monday, September 5, 2016.
Below is another breakdown of the proposed work:
Ø The bricks will be removed during construction and then replaced.
Ø All curbs along the brick pavement will be replaced with granite curbing.
Ø Sidewalks will be replaced at a width of 5′.
Ø Water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer lines will be replaced. There may be occasional service interruptions to water when connections are made. We will attempt to give a day’s notice when that will occur.
Ø All driveway aprons will be replaced with concrete.
Ø Due to ADA requirements and associated costs, any subways that have concrete walkways from road to main sidewalk will NOT be replaced.
Ø Several large trees will be removed but will be replaced with new trees.
Ø There will be no driving on the street or parking in driveways once construction begins. You will need to find alternate parking. The City of Olean will make the Bartlett House parking lot available for parking. (Please be mindful of the street sweeping schedule as you will need to avoid parking on certain streets on different days of week to avoid parking tickets.)
Ø Emergency access only will be maintained throughout the length of the project.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (716) 376-5650. Thank you, in advance, for your patience and understanding as this work progresses.
