Statement from Guthrie:
On Sunday evening, July 17, there was a small isolated fire in an office on the fifth floor of Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. Patients were immediately and safely moved to rooms away from the fire area. The fire was quickly extinguished, and clean-up began immediately. The damage is currently being assessed but is primarily water damage.
The hospital emergency department remained open throughout the incident and a family reception area was created to inform family members about the location of their family members.
We would like to thank our staff and the local fire companies who quickly responded to the incident to ensure that our patients remained safe.
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and all Guthrie Medical Group departments will remain open on Monday, July 18. A small number of procedures for Monday, July 18 have been rescheduled as a precautionary measure.
