Shinglehouse boy faces 20 charges after chase, crash

A Shinglehouse boy is facing a bevy of charges after state police say he fled after being pulled over, then crashed his SUV injuring himself and a passenger. The incident happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday on Dug Road in Sharon Township. State police said the youthful and name-protected 17-year old boy "fled from a marked Pennsylvania State Police vehicle during a traffic stop." The chase continued down a dirt road until the teenager lost control of his 2004 GMC Envoy. The vehicle eventually rolled over twice. The boy, according to troopers, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Charles Cole for suspected minor injuries. The passenger, Dakota Caskey, 19, of Shinglehouse, was wearing a seatbelt and was treated by EMS at the scene.
Troopers say they have filed 20 charges in court against the boy to include fleeing police, resisting arrest, reckless endangering and 17 summary traffic offenses. The passenger was not charged.
