Dr. F. Clifton Miller
January 13, 1945 to October 26, 2015
Dr. F. Clifton Miller spent his entire medical career in  Allegany County caring for the women and children of this community.  Tragically, he died on his way to the hospital for an emergency.  To honor his spirit of giving and continue his legacy, the maternity unit at Jones Memorial Hospital will be renamed The Dr. F. Clifton Miller Birthing Center and a trust will be established in his name to be used for women's and children's healthcare needs for generations to come.  Women's and children's health was his passion and funds raised will be used for that purpose only.
Dr. Miller was committed to his patients; regardless of the  time of day, he was always available to answer questions or to meet them in the ER, the OR, or “up on maternity.” Board-certified in Pediatrics and OB/GYN, Dr. Miller’s practice included women’s health, pediatrics, and gynecological surgery, but what he loved the most was delivering babies.  During his 43-year career, he delivered more than 8,400 babies and reached a milestone few obstetricians meet when he welcomed the fourth generation of one family: great-grandma, grandma, mom, and newborn were all patients of Dr. Miller!
The legacy left by Dr. Miller is tremendous. It is hard to imagine any physician working as hard as he did; taking more call days; caring for more patients; delivering more babies; or having more influence on local health than Dr. Clif Miller did.
If Dr. Miller touched your life, please consider donating to this fundraising campaign. Renaming the birthing center at Jones Memorial and establishing a trust in his name is a fitting tribute to his memory.  The goal of this fundraiser is $250,000.  There is no gift too small, any amount is greatly appreciated.
