Wellsville man heads to state prison in burglary case

A Wellsville man will spend the next 3 1/2 years in state prison. The sentence was handed down June 20th for Kyle J. McAndrew, 24, of Truax Road, according to press release issued today by the Allegany County District Attorney. McAndrew had faced two counts of felony burglary 2nd, but pleaded guilty to one count of felony attempted burglary. Judge Thomas Brown sentenced McAndrew to state prison, five years post release supervision and he must pay back $3,300 in restitution. According to prosecutors, the man broke into a home in Friendship last December and stole jewelry, a fit bit watch and personal items.
