Wyoming County Sheriff's Blotter

Today, Wyoming County Sheriff’s responded to Fuller Road in Gainesville for a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with James Ebner, age 32 of Silver Springs. According to a press release, deputies decided to give Ebner a ride back to his residence. While en route to Ebner’s residence, deputies came across Ebner’s vehicle which had been driven off  the roadway and was stuck on the railroad tracks on Fuller Road. The train company was advised and managed to stop two trains that were minutes away from striking the vehicle and another intoxicated female. After removing the vehicle and getting the trains underway, Ebner was put through sobriety tests in which he allegedly failed. Later, Ebner gave a breath sample of .19% BAC. Ebner was charged with Aggravated DWI more than .18%, Driving While Intoxicated and failure to keep right. Ebner is to appear in Gainesville court on October 17, 2016.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday arrested Philip J. Baker, 32 of Perry, for Criminal Contempt 2nd.  This comes after Baker and the protected party, were allegedly found together at the Department of Social Service.   It was found that Baker was arrested on separate charges on July 4th in the Village of Perry, and was issued a Stay Away Order of Protection.  He was arraigned in the Town of Perry Court for the current charge.  Bail was set at $500 and Baker was committed to the Wyoming County Jail.
