WELLSVILLE - Dawn M. Riley, 65, of 52 Crowner Ave., passed away in her home on Thursday (Aug. 4, 2016) following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born May 23, 1951, in Wellsville, the daughter of James and Marie Mason Richardson.
On March 14, 1970, in the Shongo Methodist Church, she was married to John A. Riley, who survives her.
A lifelong resident of Wellsville, she was a graduate of the Class of 1969 of the Wellsville High School.
Until retirement in 2014, she was employed with the First Trust Co. and, later, Community Bank in Wellsville as a customer service employee.
She was a member of the Wellsville American Legion Post #702 Auxiliary and had served as Auxiliary President and also as the Allegany County Auxiliary President.
She was a member of the VFW Post 2530 Auxiliary of Wellsville. AMVETS Post 1 Auxiliary and was a member of the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Surviving are her husband, John A. Riley; two daughters, Ann Grossman of Wendell, N.C., and Debra Riley of Springville, N.Y.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; Aunt and Uncle James and Linda Jackson of Florida; also aunts and uncles and cousins.
Per Dawn's request, there will be no visitations and memorial services will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Brad and Shelly Speta, the VNA nurses and members of the family and friends who were so kind in caring for Dawn in her long illness.
