Potter County becoming hotbed of white supremacy - Bradford Era

By ALEX DAVIS Era Reporter
A white supremacy movement appears to be on the rise in Potter County –– and one of the  groups involved bills itself as a “Terror Machine coming to a town near you.”
The Aryan Strikeforce, a white nationalist organization that considers itself a reputable defense league, is planning a “unity meeting” with the National Socialist Movement, a whites-only political organization, on Saturday in Potter County. The “White Solidarity Meeting” begins at 4 p.m. at an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, the National Socialist Movement, which hosted a meeting in Potter County Aug. 13, is planning an event Oct. 8 in Ulysses. For that event, a flyer states “All White Patriots” are welcome to the meeting that begins at 4 p.m.

And these aren’t the only meetings planned for God’s Country –– many more are to come, organization members reported this week.
The Coudersport-based state police say they are aware of Friday’s meeting, “but there is nothing for us to comment on at this time,” a trooper said.
“It is useful to keep in mind that we are talking about a few white supremacists in a county with a population of around 18,000,” Anti-Defamation League spokesman Mark Pitcavage told The Era on Monday. “They constitute a tiny fringe of extreme opinion and in no way are representative of the people of Potter County.”
In an email, the Aryan Strikeforce said that meetings and other events in Potter County and other areas around the United States will be held each month. On its website, the Aryan Strikeforce says it is in need of soldiers and warriors “to lead this fight against our enemies.” A graphic on its website also carries the text “Terror Machine coming to a town near you,” as well as “Combat 18” and “Whatever it takes!”
“We're not going to give the exact number of people attending (Friday’s meeting),” the Aryan Strikeforce responded via email using the moniker “Terror Machine.” Read more...
