Three alarm fire in Wyoming County destroys home

A three alarm fire Monday afternoon in Bliss destroyed a home at 6578 Route 362 in Bliss. Two people lived at the home but neither was there when the flames broke out. Investigators believe the fire started in the laundry room, possibly due to a faulty power strip. Several fire departments responded including Bliss, Pike, Arcade, Strykersville, Castile, North Java, Silver Springs and Gainesville. Nunda, Varysburg, Fillmore and Centerville according to initial reports. No injuries were reported and the Red Cross was called to assist.
