Wellsville: It's now a three-way race for Mayor

It's now a three-way race for the Mayor's race in the village of Wellsville. Tuesday was the final day to submit independent party nominating petitions. According to the Allegany County Board of Elections (ACBOE), James Dorsette filed a petition to run for office. The ACBOE said 75 signatures were needed and Dorsette obtained 94. The Commissioners will review the petition today. If the petition is challenged within the next three days, the Commissioners will review each signature and validate them. Dorsette is running on the "Wellsville Citizens Party." Judy Lynch-D, the incumbent Mayor is seeking re-election. She is also being challenged by village Trustee Randy Shaylor-R.
Dorsette has had run-in's with the village in the past. He is the former owner of the controversial Burrous Building in Wellsville.
Meanwhile, one Independent nominating petition was filed for the Town of Allen Justice. Bridggette Tojek is running on "The Peoples Constitution" party.
