Alfred University Alumnus to discuss Potter County watershed restoration at Environmental Speakers Series

Jason Childs, a 2010 graduate of Alfred University with a degree in Environmental Studies, will discuss “Grassroots Watershed Restoration in Potter County, PA” at 12:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in Room 247 of the Science Center as part of the Environmental Studies Speakers Series. The talk is open to the public, free of charge. Childs has been working for the Potter County Conservation District for the past five years, primarily as a watershed specialist, but most recently as the district manager. He had previously worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation conducting invasive species control. Prior to earning his degree from AU, Childs has earned an associate’s degree in outdoor recreation from Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks.
