Andover man gets prison time in burglary cases

An Andover man accused in a string of burglaries is headed to state prison. In Allegany County court Tuesday morning,  Joel M. Grossman, 25, of 4 Barney Street was sentenced to five years in state prison. Judge Terrance Parker also ordered Grossman to serve three years post release supervision, pay restitution in the amount of $5,491 and pay a DNA fee and court surcharge. In June, Grossman pleaded guilty to felony burglary 2nd after being initially charged with three counts of burglary 2nd, one count of burglary 3rd, grand larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing a minivan. The crimes involved a strong of burglaries in the Andover area dating back to September 27, 2015.
