BREAKING IN WELLSVILLE: Billy Jack Howard has been captured

The man who escaped from Wellsville Police custody has been captured. Billy Jack Howard, 38, from Olean was taken into custody without incident by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office and state police. Police said Howard was located at a home in the Town of Allegany. Shortly after 9 p.m., Wellsville Police were headed to the Allegany/Cattaraugus County line to pick Howard up. He'll be returned to Wellsville Thursday night and arraigned on new charges to include escape and resisting arrest.

Howard was first picked up Wednesday afternoon on a warrant. As he was removed from the police car, Howard bolted from authorities sparking a several hour manhunt.

10:18 p.m.- Police have returned Howard to the Wellsville station. He is awaiting arraignment.
UPDATE: Howard was arraigned in village court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
