Former Wellsville man charged in Corning burglaries

A former Wellsville man is behind bars, charged with allegedly committing felony crimes in Corning. City police on Thursday arrested Fred L. Bilby, 47 of Bridge Street in Corning. Bilby was charged with burglary and petit larceny for allegedly breaking into McHales bar in August. He was also charged with felony attempted burglary for trying to break into the bar again a few days later. Police told the Corning Leader that "a quantity of cash was stolen."
During his arraignment, Bilby was jailed without bail based on his lengthy criminal history.
