Meth raid in Steuben County nets arrests

A four month investigation by the New York State Police in conjunction with the Steuben Co. District Attorney’s Office, has led to the arrest of 3 subjects on methamphetamine related charges.  At 6:00 a.m. this morning, a search warrant was executed at the residence of Jason A. Shinebarger, located at #8242 Cream Hill Rd., in the hamlet of Stephens Mills, in the Town of Fremont.    The N.Y.S.P. Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.) assisted with the execution of the warrant, which yielded a quantity of methamphetamine; the components and equipment used in the manufacture of methamphetamine; firearms; and cash.  The N.Y.S.P. Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (C.C.S.E.R.T.) also responded to the scene, for remediation purposes.  Shinebarger, age 40, as well as Charles W. France, age 34, of #9123 Demmery Rd., Arkport, and Thomas C. Harrison, age 33, of #66 Hartshorn St., Hornell, were each charged with 1 count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, 3rd degree, a class “D” felony.  Shinebarger was additionally charged with Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Material, a class “E” felony; two (2) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, 5th degree, class “D” felonies; and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 5th degree, also class “D” felonies.
Shinebarger, France, and Harrison were arraigned in the Town of Fremont Court and remanded to the Steuben Co. Jail.  Shinebarger’s bail was set at $25,000.00 cash bail or $50,000.00 property bond, with bail for France and Harrison set at $10,000.00 cash or $20,000.00 property bond.  They are scheduled to reappear in the Town of Fremont Court on 10/03/16 at 10:00 A.M.
