COUDERSPORT, PA----Joseph M. “Joe” Bohn, 62, of a longtime resident of Coudersport, passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, September 2, 2016 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 24, 1954 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of Louis G. and Mary I. Cummings Bohn. On January 23, 1990 in Sweden Township, he married Kay A. Kightlinger, who survives.
Joe was a graduate of West Seneca High School, Class of 1972 and a graduate of Alfred University, Class of 1974, with an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts.
Through the years, Joe and his family, owned and operated several restaurants in the Coudersport area, including Potato City Country Inn. Joe was an icon in the area.
He was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe enjoyed going to the casino. His greatest love was his family and cooking.
Surviving besides his wife are his father of Buffalo, NY; four sons, Jason (Brandy) Bohn of Coudersport, Travis (Sue) Hunt of Wellsboro, Ryan (Shauna) Hunt of Pittsburgh, and Joseph Hunt of Port Allegany; a daughter, Kayla (Rachel) Bohn of Rochester, NY; five grandchildren, Dylan, Dani, Brittany, Finn, and Ellery; two sisters, Gail (Gary) Schraff of Kane and Anne (Gary) Copeland of North Tonawanda, NY; two brothers, David (Michelle) Bohn and Tim (Dawn) Bohn, both of Depew, NY; his father-in-law, Daniel Kightlinger, Sr. of Coudersport; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Joe was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Kightlinger.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Eulalia Catholic Church, Coudersport, where a Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Campbell, pastor, as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
