Lisa A. Brown, 57, of Arcade, passed away peacefully after battling cancer on Monday (September 12, 2016) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Tonawanda, NY.Born in Hornell, Lisa had lived her school years in Almond, New York. She graduated in 1977 from Alfred-Almond Central School.
Besides living in Almond, she had resided in Brushton, NY, South Wales, NY, and most recently in the Holland, and Arcade, NY area.
Lisa had been employed at the Holland Central School for over 25 years, working most of those years in the Elementary School as a classroom aide.
She is survived by her parents Russell E. and Virginia (Burns) Allen of Almond, her daughter Melissa Brown (Paul Russell) of Chaffee, NY, her son Joshua Brown of Perry, NY, a sister Janis (Andrew) Welkie of Middletown, PA, 3 grandchildren Simon and Jack Brown of Strykersville, NY, and Madison Russell of Chaffee, NY, her longtime companion Ray Kozlowski of Arcade, several nieces and nephews, and her children’s father James “Josh” Brown.
The family will be present to receive friends Saturday (September 24, 2016) from 11a.m.-1 p.m. at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. A private graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Almond, with Rev. Michelle Ormsby-Serra officiating.
