Robert C. Perkins (Bob) entered into rest on Sept. 19, 2016 at his home.
Bob's life began on May 3, 1927, in Stannards, N.Y., the son of Ary and Flossie Perkins.
Bob attended school in Hallsport until third grade. He then moved to Kibbeville, Pa., until eighth grade, when the school closed due to only two students attending. Bob then finished school and graduated from Shinglehouse, Pa., in 1945.
Soon after, Bob joined the U.S. Army, where he served our nation in England, France and Germany. Throughout his military career as a technical Sergeant, Bob attended college in Germany, where he majored in business management.
In 1953 and 1954, Bob volunteered and served in Korea, thus ending his military service.
Bob then went to work for Air Preheater, where he worked for 21 years, retiring in 1975.
During this time, Bob owned and operated Perkins Keystone in Wellsville for many years.
Bob enjoyed many sports, including bowling, where he bowled in three different leagues, where one included his brothers, they called themselves the Perks.
Bob coached little league for several years before moving to Allentown, where he went on to become President of the Allentown little leagues.
Bob also was a lifelong Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan.
A man of great work ethic, Bob once again entered into the work field, working for The Wellsville Daily Reporter from 1986 until his health no longer allowed him to continue, and ending in December 2015.
Bob's family meant everything to him, beginning in 1954, when he married Annette E. Carr, and later, in 1974, marrying his present wife, Faith L. Joyes Perkins. He loved and was loved to the very end.
Bob is survived by his wife, Faith, and their children, Kevin (Debbie) Perkins of Olean, Diane (Steven) Olinger of Texas, Nena (Harold) Wesche of Wellsville, Robert B. Perkins of Wellsville, Marianne (Steven) Skarpa of Texas, Roger Wesche of Scio, Ann Marie VanNatter of Texas, Tanya (Fred) Killingbeck of Bolivar, Shawn (Melissa) Perkins of Avon, Brandi (Jeremy) Langan of Bloomfield, N.Y., and Eric Perkins of Friendship; 33 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nephews and nieces.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Ary and Flossie Perkins; sister, Ruth Daily; brothers, Howard, Richard, Donald and Lyle Perkins; son, Carl Perkins; and grandson, Scotty Wolfgang Perkins.
The family will be present to receive friends and family at Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home on Friday (Sept. 23, 2016) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 24, 2016) at the First Congregational Church, 289 N. Main St., Wellsville.
