Olean man arrested after knife assault in Cuba

A disturbance call early Sunday in the Town of Cuba ended with the arrest of Guy H. Ackley II , 28 of Olean. He was charged by Cuba Police with assault 1st degree with a deadly weapon (D-Felony), criminal mischief 3rd (E-Felony), three counts of menacing 2nd and resisting arrest. Ackley was processed and sent to the Allegany County Jail on $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond. Cuba Police Chief Dustin Burch said the charges stem from a report that Ackley allegedly brandished a knife and assaulted a male victim. The victim was transported to Olean General Hospital with unspecified injuries. According to radio reports, a male was stabbed at approximately 3 a.m. Chief Burch said the Cuba Police Department would like "to thank state police and especially the Allegany County Dispatch Center for all of the help." During the incident Burch said the county radio system was experiencing some technical difficulties and 911 workers "remained calm and assisted police with the utmost of professionalism."
