Potter County: Improvements Coming in October for Pusher Siding

Coudersport, PA – A roadway improvement project will take place in early October on a section of Pusher Siding Road (Route 1009), according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The rehab work will be done from the current black-top section to the Bingham Township line and will result in an enhanced roadway surface on more than a mile of Pusher Siding Road. In order to complete this work, PennDOT will close the road during daylight hours from Oct.3 through Oct. 7.   A detour will be in place during daily closure hours, PennDOT’s official detour will use Route 49 and Route 1011 (Hickox/Ulysses Road). Emergency vehicles will be accommodated through the closure as necessary.
The work will be done by crews from PennDOT Potter County Maintenance. The crew will be adding limestone material to the dirt roadway and compacting it to enhance roadway integrity and provide a smoother travelling surface. PennDOT is partnering on this job with the Potter County Conservation District, which is contributing about $75,000 toward the total project cost of $150,000. All work is weather dependent.
