Wellsville Police Blotter

Wellsville Police arrested Jason M. Gates, age 37 of Scio, charging him with DWI (Felony), Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Interlock Device, Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test, Improper/No Signal, Moved from Lane Unsafely and Unsafe Start.  The charges stem from a traffic stop on State Route 19 in the Village of Wellsville.  Gates was processed and arraigned before acting Wellsville Village Judge Ames.  Gates was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $2,500.00 cash bail.  Gates is due back in Wellsville Village Court on September 6th at 4:30 p.m.

Wellsville Police arrested Thomas C. Wilson, age 46 of Wellsville, charging him with Petit Larceny.  The charge stems from an incident that took place at the Giant Food Mart in Wellsville.  Wilson was processed and issued an appearance ticket.  Wilson is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 20th at 4:30 pm.  Wilson was additionally arrested and charged with a Probation Violation Warrant issued by the Allegany County Court.  Wilson was committed to the Allegany County Jail pending arraignment in Allegany County Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police Department with assistance from the Allegany County Probation Department arrested Donald J. Deschler, age 58, of Wellsville, on the charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and Violation of Probation. Deschler was arraigned in Village Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail and is to return to Village Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police Department in conjunction with The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, arrested Joey L. Traylor, age 23, of Smethport P.A. for Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B Felony) and Conspiracy 4th degree (E Felony) following a lengthy investigation into drug sales in the village. Traylor was arraigned in Wellsville Village Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is to return to court on a later date.
