Wellsville Police Blotter

Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested Jeremy J. Combs, age 37 of Wellsville, charging him with failure to appear in court and/or pay fine on a previous charges of Criminal Mischief 4th and Harassment 2nd.  Combs was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Judge O’Connor.  Combs was committed to the Allegany County Jail for 89 days or until his fine of $224.00 was paid in full.

Wellsville Police, with the assistance of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police, arrested Billy Jack Howard, age 38 of Olean, after he escaped from custody on Wednesday. Wellsville Police developed information of Howard's whereabouts and notified the agencies having jurisdiction. Howard was located in Allegany, NY by Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers and turned over to Wellsville Police. Howard was charged with Escape 3rd, Resisting Arrest and the initial Bench Warrant for failure to appear in Court and pay fine on a previous AUO 3rd charge.  Howard was arraigned in Wellsville Village Court before Judge O’Connor and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.  Howard is due back in Wellsville Village Court on October 18th at 4:30 p.m.
