Wellsville School Board to appoint new teachers and staff

When the Board of Education in Wellsville meets September 6th, it is expected to approve the appointments of several teachers. According the agenda:
-  “that Alyssa Christensen, who has her initial certification in Music be appointed on probation in the Music Tenure Area with a probationary period effective August 30, 2016, and ending on August 29, 2020. Eligibility for tenure at the end of the probationary period is dependent on Mrs. Christensen receiving APPR ratings of H or E in 3 of 4 preceding years and no I rating in the final year. Salary for the 2016-2017 school year is based on the WEA Contract.”

- “that Joy L. Wilber, who has her initial certification in Music be appointed on probation in the Music Tenure Area with a probationary period effective August 31, 2016, and ending on August 30, 2020. Eligibility for tenure at the end of the probationary period is dependent on Mrs. Wilber receiving APPR ratings of H or E in 3 of 4 preceding years and no I rating in the final year. Salary for the 2016-2017 school year is based on the WEA Contract.”

- “that Matthew Warren, who has his initial certification in English Language Arts 7-12, be appointed on probation in the English Tenure Area with a probationary period effective August 30, 2016, and ending on August 29, 2020. Eligibility for tenure at the end of the probationary period is dependent on Mr. Warren receiving APPR ratings of H or E in 3 of 4 preceding years and no I rating in the final year. Salary for the 2016-2017 school year is based on the WEA Contract.”

-  “that Caprice Murphy, whose certification is pending, be appointed on probation in the School Social Work Tenure Area with a probationary period effective August 30, 2016, and ending on August 29, 2020. Salary for the 2016-2017 school year is based on the WEA Contract.”
The Board will also take several other personnel actions:
- “that Jennifer Cole be approved as a certified long-term substitute teacher effective August 30, 2016.”

- “that Andrew McGlynn be conditionally approved as a noncertified substitute teacher (certification pending).”

- “that the resignation for school bus driver, James Braley, be accepted effective 09/02/16.”

- “that Kristen Crawford be appointed to the probationary position of part-time Attendance Secretary (3.75 hrs./day) effective August 30, 2016. The probationary period begins on August 30, 2016, and ends on August 29, 2017.”

- “that Nicholette Grover be conditionally approved as a substitute monitor, teacher aide, and teacher assistant.”
The Board of Education will meet in Middle School Room 212A on September 6 at 6:30 p.m.
