Call to Order: Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charles Jessup called the meeting to order at 1:11 p.m.
Approval of Audit 
Committee members reviewed the October 24, 2016, audit of claims in the amount of $3,959,598.60 (including prepaid bills). A motion was made by Legislator Graves, seconded by Legislator Root, and carried to forward the audit to the full Board for approval of payment. 
REFERRALS FROM OTHER COMMITTEES 
Public Safety Committee
            The Sheriff’s Office requested a resolution approving the Memorandum of Agreement with the Allegany County Deputy Sheriffs Association, Council 82, Local 3989 allowing the retention of retired Deputy Sheriff's as part-time Deputy Sheriffs, and the creation of five (5) part-time Deputy Sheriff positions. This request was approved on a motion made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator Fanton, and carried. Prepare Resolution
 
            The Sheriff’s Office requested a resolution setting the pay rate for part-time Deputy Sheriff’s at $17.00 per/hour. This request was approved on a motion made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator Fanton, and carried. Prepare Resolution
            The Sheriff’s Office requested a resolution to apply for funds allowed under Tier 8 of the SFY 2016-17 Police Protective Equipment Program (PPEP). The maximum amount available to Allegany County is $25,000, and the funds would be used to purchase or replace patrol rifles, advanced ballistic vests, and advanced ballistic helmets to be used by all county law enforcement agencies. This request was approved on a motion made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator Healy, and carried. Prepare Resolution

There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 1:16 p.m. following a motion by Legislator Graves, seconded by Legislator LaForge, and carried.
