ANGELICA – Donald G. “Derm” Demick, Jr., 55 of Angelica, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday (October 23rd, 2016) surrounded by his family.
Born October 24th, 1960 in Wellsville, Don was the son of Donald Sr. and Sandra (Brooks) Demick.
Don, who was a life-long resident of Angelica, was a 1978 graduate of Angelica Central School. Don had worked for Alstom Corporation, Preston Auto Sales and for the past several years at Fred Roberts Auto/ Auto Plus in Hornell. For many years Don was the Score/Book keeper for the Angelica and Genesee Valley Girls Basketball teams. Throughout his years he also owned and operated his own business selling sports cards and sports memorabilia.
Don always enjoyed all sports, especially NASCAR. He enjoyed collecting and trading all types of sports cards and sports memorabilia. Don was an avid bowler for many years. Don was also very well known to bring home or run parts to anyone on his way home or after hours to help out who he could. But most of all Don enjoyed his two sons and being with his family and hanging out with his dog, Diesel.
Surviving besides his mother Sandy, are his two sons, Eric Demick of Olean , and Joseph Demick of Scio; a brother, Kevin “Fred” (Tami) Demick of Angelica; Nieces, Paige Demick of Nunda, Jessica Preston of Olean; Nephew Seth Preston of Angelica; a great-nephew Evan and a beloved dog and faithful companion, Diesel. Along with immediate family, Don is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Don was predeceased by His Father, Donald Sr. and his Grandparents Charles & Norma Demick and Eldyn & Orpha Brooks.
There will be a Friends and Family visitation to celebrate his life at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, Angelica, New York from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday November 5th.
