The group consists of Rob Stachyra (guitar, vocals), Dan Hardy (guitar, vocals), Ed Gliha (bass, vocals), and drummer Dan Dunham, aka Bird-Dog. These members came together from regional upstate New York groups such as Fetish Lane and Dirt Farm. Influences include Jerry Jeff Walker, Wilco, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Dick Dale & the Deltones.
The Woodshed Prophets are the original purveyors of "Power-Twang!!!" Power-Twang is a high-energy mixture of rock and country music, designed to excite the ear drums and make the feet move.  They have been praised for their tight harmonies, high energy and synthesis of music styles ranging from rock and country to blues and power-pop, with the occasional hint of Tex-Mex.  In 2013 the Prophets released their second studio album, "Nowhere But Down," recorded with acclaimed indie producer Brad Morrison (Spiral Jetty, The Push Stars, The Sugarcubes, Graham Parker).
