Angelica, Olean men face drug charges in Livingston County

NORTH DANSVILLE: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of two men on drug charges following a traffic stop and additional felonies for post arrest actions.
On November 19th, Deputy Shawn Whitford stopped a vehicle on Route 36 in the town of North Dansville for vehicle and traffic law violations.  According to a press release, the operator, 31-year-old Jon R. Faber of Angelica, NY was found to have a suspended license with 8 suspensions.   Faber and his passenger, 33-year-old Patrick J. McCarthy of Olean, NY, were both allegedly found to be in possession of suboxone. Faber also allegedly had a small amount of marijuana.

Faber was charged on scene with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. 
McCarthy was charged on scene with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.
Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Livingston County Jail to be turned over to Central Booking Deputies. The Deputy Sheriff gave both men the warning if they had any additional drugs on them when they entered the jail, they would be charged with a felony. 
Faber entered into the jail and was charged with the felony of Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree following additional suboxone strips allegedly being located in his battery compartment of his cell phone. 
McCarthy was charged with the felony of Tampering with Physical Evidence following his alleged attempt to conceal additional suboxone strips in the crease of the seat inside the Sheriff’s patrol vehicle. 
Both McCarthy and Faber were arraigned on November 20th in Geneseo Court before Justice Jansen. The Judge sent both men to jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
