Corning: Police chase ends in deadly crash

One person was killed and two were injured Wednesday during a police pursuit which began in Chemung County and ended in Corning.  Authorities say 35-year-old Adam VanCise, formerly of Corning and most recently of Palmyra, was fleeing police after he was allegedly caught stealing from the Horseheads Walmart when he drove into the oncoming lanes of Route 352.  VanCise was killed when he collided head-on with another vehicle, operated by 56-year-old Dianne Box of Corning. Box and a passenger were taken to Robert packer Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Emergency crews were on scene until roughly 3 p.m.  A large section of Route 352 was closed for several hours.  The vehicle VanCise was driving was stolen.
