Graves reminds residents of county budget hearing tonight

Letter to the Editor:

Please remember that a public hearing on the Tentative 2017 County Budget is tonight at 7PM in the Legislative Chambers at the Allegany County Courthouse in Belmont.
This is your opportunity to be heard; the one and only chance that will be afforded to you.  Yes, it will probably pass into reality with our without your presence.
The secret is that if you do not appear or make your opinion known it will imply consent.  It implies that you are not concerned about taxes.  It implies that you are not concerned about how your tax dollars are being spent.  It implies that you are not concerned that there are no programs cuts.  It implies that you are not concerned that no services are reduced and it implies that you are not concerned that the county provides services duplicated by others.
Donald Trump cannot change the world over overnight.  If he succeeds, as we all hope he will, it may take years to get our economy and country to where it should be.  Please attend if you can.  Ask questions and demand thoughtful answers.  We are all in this together.  United we stand.  Divided we fail.
Sincerely,
Karl Graves, Legislator, District 4
