Tops Market in Olean robbed - UPDATED, ARREST MADE

Investigators from the Olean Police Departments Criminal Investigation unit have made an arrest for the overnight Robbery at Tops Friendly Market located at 2401 W. State Street. At approximately 9:00 a.m. today, 42-year-old Ambe Reeder of Olean was arrested and charged with Robbery 1st degree (B Felony) and Petit larceny (A Misdemeanor) and is awaiting arraignment in Olean City court.

The Olean Police Department is currently investigating a robbery that occurred at Tops Market located at 2401 W. State St. Olean at approximately 11:04 p.m. Tuesday. According to Captain Robert Blovsky, a black male entered the store and threatened the use of force and demanded cash. He fled the store with cash and got into a light colored 4 door sedan which traveled East on West State Street. No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no one was injured. The suspect is described as approximately 6’01” and about 250 lbs. He was wearing a green sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a dark colored baseball hat. Patrol Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Olean Police Department at 716-376-5677.
