Andover husband & wife arrested on I-390


Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports that a husband and wife from Andover, NY were arrested as a result of a traffic stop on Interstate 390 in the area of Exit 9.
On November 29th, Deputy Shawn Whitford, who is detailed to Operation Safe Interstate, initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The Deputy Sheriff identified the driver as 43-year-old Jason Workman and the passenger as Jason Workman’s wife, 25-year-old Amelia Workman.
A check of Jason Workman’s driver’s license showed that his license was not valid and that his driving privileges had been suspended 5 times. Jason Workman also had an arrest warrant from Hornell Police Department for a violation of probation.
A vehicle search was conducted and a plastic bag allegedly containing crack cocaine was seized, as well as several used bags with crack cocaine residue. 
As a result, both Jason Workman and Amelia Workman were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Jason Workman was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd Degree.
Amelia Workman was additionally charged with Facilitating Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Both Workman’s were transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
The Workman’s were arraigned on November 30th in Avon Town Court before Justice Piampiano.  The Judge remanded Jason Workman to the custody of the Sheriff on $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond and released Amelia Workman on her own recognizance (ROR).
