Fire officials say a "recreational structure" was damaged during an early morning blaze Thursday. Clarksville firefighters received the call at 1:20 a.m. and responded to the 8500 block of Stewart Road. Officials said the structure was well off the road and primary equipment could not reach the scene. Fire crews were prepared to lay 1,500 feet of hose. One Clarksville unit drafted from a pond and supplied 200’ of 1-3/4 line to extinguish the fire. Additional help was called in from Cuba, New Hudson, Friendship and Portville. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
