Belmont: Legislature hits the pause button on state grant

There will be further discussion regarding a state grant for the Sheriff's Department. On Monday, county lawmakers did not act on accepting the grant but instead opted to toss it back to the public safety committee for additional study. The $45,000 grant would have allowed the Sheriff's Office to purchase a drug-sniffing K9, a drone and a license plate reader.
